MERCHANDISE DEPARTMENT

We offer you a wide selection of exclusive brands for children, women, men, laundry and home textiles. Each brand team consists of multiple product managers for various product categories and brand designers for the development of collections. The teams are led and managed by the head of brand.

In order to achieve a distinctive position compared to leading brands in the industry, KATAG's exclusive brands are conceived within a strategic framework according to defined style directions. In this process, a variety of segments, ranging from premium to mainstream in different price ranges, are addressed to reach a broad and comprehensive target audience.

Through this approach, each brand within the KATAG portfolio develops its individual identity and characteristics. In addition to focusing on current fashion trends, ensuring a high profit margin is a crucial factor for our partners in retail, guaranteeing them returns and success.

CENTRAL REGULATION

KATAG BRAND OFFICE (KMK)

The KATAG Brand Office, established in 2004, serves as the connecting link between trade and industrial partners within KATAG. It acts as a central point for new partnerships, a neutral interface and a hub for precisely coordinated communication at the decision-maker level. It provides an opportunity for both KATAG trade partners and over 800 leading brand suppliers to sustainably establish and intensify collaboration. The KATAG Brand Office acts as a unifying force for joint partnerships, assisting in unlocking potentials through its sales support. It fosters transparency through regular benchmark data, market analyses, customer surveys and seasonal workshops, laying the groundwork for qualified growth and broader market coverage. The Brand Office initiates the Industry-established Information and Communication platform through the KATAG-Markentag and serves as a point of contact for sponsors of the KATAG-Cheftagung.

CLEARING CENTER

HILTES International Partners (H.I.P.) is a joint venture between HILTES Software GmbH in Leer and the bedebe Clearing Center in Bielefeld.

Through the strategic partnership of both software and service providers and the consequent bundling of core competencies, exclusive solution and service offerings have been created for partners in combination. These encompass areas of trade software ranging from inventory management to point of sale, CRM and mobile solutions. Coupled with shared, centrally maintained master data and EDI clearing, this forms the basis for streamlining and automating operational processes. Participating in the services offered by HILTES International Partners also simplifies engagement with the KATAG Data Warehouse and the resultant analyses, such as assortment comparisons.

INSURANCES

The KATAG Insurance Service specializes as an insurance broker in providing special risk protection for trade, manufacturing and service companies. The trading partners of KATAG AG form the largest customer group among the clients served by the KATAG Insurance Service. The service package includes risk analysis, the development of coverage concepts, support during the contract period and claims processing.

LOGISTICS

The KATAG AG operates a logistics center in Bielefeld for the entire product distribution, including NOS processing, covering approximately 15,000 square meters of storage and processing space.

Through an integrated logistics concept, KATAG AG is capable of ensuring first-class product supply "just in time" at optimal conditions for our partner companies.

In the field of procurement logistics, a competent, global network of outstanding service providers guarantees the delivery and transportation of our goods.

The KATAG Logistics services portfolio for our trade partners includes the following services:

  • coordination of worldwide transportation for lying and hanging goods (truck, sea, sea-air, air)
  • import of goods and customs clearance for free circulation within the EU
  • picking, consolidation and distribution of goods
  • just-in-time shipping to partner companies throughout europe on the desired date
  • notification of shipments using DESADV for our EDI partners
  • state-of-the-art shipment tracking through "Tracking and Tracing"
  • freight agreements (framework contracts) with carriers and forwarders for our partner companies
  • central freight settlement with service providers DPD, Dachser, DTL and LMO
  • verification of freight invoices
  • monthly settlement through KATAG AG

SORTIMENT COMPARISON

The assortment comparison provides our partners with a benchmark system based on a modern data warehouse. Online, a company's performance can be compared to current market figures. Analyses are possible through table-oriented comparisons and advanced dashboards. Additionally, participants have access to an iPhone app for on-the-go use.
